Time is here for a trip down memory lane. Make yourself comfortable with a cup of hot chocolate, light a fire, gather the children and listen to the 1937 classic, The Cinnamon Bear. The Cinnamon Bear is the classic story of Judy and Jimmy Barton who are searching for the family's silver star that goes on top of their Christmas tree. They go up to the attic, where they discover that the star has disappeared. There they meet Paddy O'Cinnamon (the cinnamon bear), and fly to Maybe Land in his soda pop airplane. They are in pursuit of the crazy quilt dragon, whom they believe took the star. I loved the cast of characters and the exotic locales: the Root Beer Ocean and the Inkaboos, the Wintergreen Witch, the Looking Glass Valley, the Crazy Quilt Dragon. And, of course, I loved Santa Claus and the North Pole. I believe that The Cinnamon Bear sparked within me a lifelong love of fantasy and science fiction.
As a child, airplay would start just after Thanksgiving and run until Christmas Eve. It used to air on the radio from November 29 until Christmas Eve. One episode each night until Christmas. From my home to yours, Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

I have spent my whole life listening to these stories over and over. My father and Grandfather would make sure I never missed a Holiday season. I in turn have archived and passed them out each and every year for any and all to enjoy. Being a Old Time Radio fan of many many years, I find these treasures timeless. Sitting by the radio listening to Fibber McGee and Molly, Cinnamon Bear, Gunsmoke and hundreds more, made the listener use thier imagination to create the stories right in front of your eyes. I wish it was still that easy for children to see and hear stories that way, but times have changed. So with that being said........ Sit back and enjoy the next 26 episodes of..... The Cinnamon Bear!
Paddy O'Cinnamon's introduction song to the children:
"I'm the Cinnamon Bear with the Shoe-button eyes
And I'm looking for someone to take by surprise
I go growling and prowling each night after dark
But the folks say my growl's just a cinnamon bark
Though I growl grr-rah!
And I growl grr-rooh!
My victims only say
Oh, who's afraid of you?
I'm the cinnamon bear with the shoe button eyes
And I'm huffy and fluffy and tough for my size
I devour lots of honey and cinnamon buns
Just to make me ferocious but nobody runs
Now I'll growl grr-ah!
And I'll growl grr-ooh!
And if you'll act afraid
I'm much obliged to you."
